Multi Modal does not collect any data about you. The game has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and it contains no networking code of its own — there is no server of ours for it to talk to. Everything it saves stays on your own device. This policy explains that in full, because a policy that just said "nothing" would be hard to trust.
None. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, device identifiers, contacts, photos, or any usage or diagnostic data. We do not build a profile of you, and there is nothing for us to sell or share, because nothing ever reaches us.
Multi Modal has no sign-in and no account. The game is free to play, with a single optional in-app purchase that unlocks the remaining cities; that purchase is handled entirely by Apple, and is covered in section 4 below. Apart from making or restoring that purchase, the game never needs a network connection — the free London campaign plays start to finish with the machine in aeroplane mode.
Multi Modal saves your progress locally so you can put it down and come back to it. All of this is written inside the app's own sandbox container on your device, and none of it is transmitted anywhere:
This data never leaves your device, is not backed up to any server of ours, and is not readable by us or by anyone else. If your device backs up to iCloud, Apple's normal device-backup behaviour and Apple's privacy policy apply to that backup — that is between you and Apple, and we have no access to it.
The app contains no networking code whatsoever. It cannot phone home, check for messages, load remote content, or report a crash to us, because the ability to do so is not built into it. It also runs inside Apple's App Sandbox without the entitlement that would permit outgoing connections, so that boundary is enforced at the operating-system level rather than relying on our good intentions.
The one exception is buying or restoring the in-app purchase, which does need a connection. Even then the app is not the thing making the request: the transaction is carried out by Apple's own App Store system component, which runs outside the game and reports back only whether you are entitled to the unlocked cities. No part of that exchange passes through us.
Multi Modal is free to download and offers one optional in-app purchase, which unlocks the cities and modes outside the free London campaign. That transaction is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data.
What the game itself sees is only whether the purchase has been made — a yes-or-no answer that Apple's system provides on the device, and that we never send anywhere. From Apple we receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales figures reported to every developer, which cannot be traced back to an individual.
We do not operate any analytics or crash-reporting service, and the app contains no third-party SDK of any kind.
If you have separately chosen to share analytics and crash data with developers in your device's own privacy settings, Apple may provide us with anonymised crash logs and aggregate usage statistics through App Store Connect. That sharing is controlled entirely by you, in Apple's settings, and can be switched off there at any time. We never receive anything that identifies you.
This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. We run no analytics, no cookies and no tracking scripts on it. Cloudflare processes standard server request logs as part of delivering and protecting the site, in accordance with their own privacy policy.
The free browser demo is hosted on itch.io. The demo itself contains no analytics, but the itch.io page around it is operated by itch.io and their privacy policy and cookie practices apply while you are on it. We receive nothing from them beyond the anonymous play and download counts shown on their dashboard.
Multi Modal is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing about a child to disclose, delete, or misuse.
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in complete control of it. There is no request to make of us and no account to close.
We may update this policy from time to time — for example if a future version of the game gains a feature that genuinely needs data, such as online leaderboards. If that ever happens we will update the "Effective Date" above and describe exactly what changed. We will not begin collecting anything without saying so here first.
